Welcome To The “A Helping Voice” Booth!
What We Do:
The goal of “A Helping Voice” is to help people navigate the difficult and often painful decisions about what to do when an older adult they know or care for may be being abused or mistreated. Through our confidential phone-based service, we offer clarity, guidance and support to help professionals figure out whether what they are concerned about is abuse, to offer guidance on their role as a mandated reporter, and to support callers in reporting abuse.
Who We Are:
“A Helping Voice” is staffed by compassionate professionals with experience in elder abuse and community services for older adults. The project was designed by a partnership between the Elder Abuse Institute of Maine, a Gerontologist from the Keck School of Medicine at USC and a Geriatrician from Geisel School of Medicine, Dartmouth, with funding from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s IRL program.
